Survey on Fellowship Programs of Sending Japanese Researchers Abroad and Inviting Foreign Researchers to Japan

JIt is important for Japan to increase the range and level of research, and thereby strengthen scientific and technological capacity, by hosting outstanding researchers from overseas. The purpose of this program is to help Japan prevail in the international competition for scientific talent by establishing a committee of experts; gathering, studying, and analyzing information on overseas research fellowships for Japanese scientists and Japan research fellowships for overseas scientists; offering recommendations about such fellowship programs; organizing that information in a manner easily accessible to Japanese and international researchers; and making it available in both Japanese and English.
