Winter Institute
Research Support Activities for Korean Graduate Students in Science and Technology
| Last update 6 August. 2009 |
The Winter Institute, a program for inviting South Korean graduate students (currently studying in doctorate or master’s programs) to Japanese independent administrative agencies, national research institutes and other facilities for approximately two months during the winter season, has been in operation since fiscal year 1993.
This project seeks to work through hands-on experiences of the research stances and methods (research training) practiced in Japan to create opportunities for Japanese-Korean joint research in industrial technology, and to support efforts to strengthen such research. The goal of these activities is to help foster human relations capable of advancing exchanges of industrial technology between Japan and South Korea, anticipating that this will contribute to raising the level of industrial technology in both nations.
