| Hokkaido | The Bank of Japan Otaru Museum | The Bank of Japan Otaru Museum opened in May 2003, by making use of the former Bank of Japan Otaru Branch building. From the late Taisho Period to the early Showa Period (1920s-1930s), the Bank's Otaru Branch was located at the heart of a busy financial district, often called the "Wall Street of northern Japan". | Fukushima | Koriyama City Fureai Science Center(SPACE PARK) | Fureai Science Center (Space Park) is located at the top of the "Big Eye" in front of JR Koriyama station on the 20th-24th floor. The honorary director is Leiji Matsumoto, Japan's famed manga artist. It is a science hall where children can enjoy "space" accompanied by adults. In the space theater, a sloping dome with a diameter of 23 m, you can see 38,000 stars up to 7.9 magnitude. If you include the Milky Way, you can see the sky full of 650 thousand stars. Inside the dome you can view powerful images that are about 8 times the resolution of full high-vision. | Fukuoka | Ashiyagama no Sato | In Ashiya there were founders who built superior tea pots from ancient times. The tea ceremony kettle they make is called Ashiya-gama kettle, and its elegant shape and beautiful patterns were appreciated by the noblity in Kyoto. Although the production of Ashiya kettle was discontinued in early Edo period (17th c), its is still highly evaluated to this day, The Ashiya kettle occupies up to 8 out of the 9 designated important Japanese cultural assets related to tea ceremony. This museum was founded in 1995 with the aim of reviving the Ashiyagama kettle. In addition to the reconstructed workshop, there is a reference room, tea room, matcha tea room dotted throughout the 10,000 square meter Japanese garden. In the open-to-users zone, we introduce the latest marine science technology by exhibiting specimens and models of deep-sea creatures, deep sea images and so on.
