Development of Methods to Internationalize Domestic Research Environments

This program aims to develop models for contributing to internationalization of the research environment in a fashion generally applicable to universities and other institutions. This is accomplished by supporting implementation of, and comprehensively analyzing outcomes from, pioneering strategic international activities at twenty public and private universities and inter-university research institutes throughout Japan selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the outstanding quality of their international strategic initiatives. (The program is carried out on subcontract with the twenty chosen institutions under the Strategic Fund for Establishing International Headquarters in Universities.)
The program commenced in FY 2005 and ends in FY 2009.
JISTEC will oversee accounting operations during the program’s final year, and promote dissemination of results based on activities to date
JISTEC administers the program's accounts and disseminates its results.
