Previously, JISTEC conducted two related survey researches in this field:
2011 - “Survey on Facilitating the Entry of Researchers and Strengthening Networks for the Promotion of International Collaboration in Research,” commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
2013-2014 - ”Launch of a Homepage for Providing Remote Lifestyle Support to Foreign Researchers,” supported by the Watanabe Memorial Foundation for the Advancement of Technology through 2013-2014.
As a successor to the abovementioned projects, we will follow up on the MEXT research of 2011 by tracking the 5 years that passed, including influences from the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 11, 2011) and verify the efficacy of remote lifestyle support call centers for international researchers (as opposed to conventional face-to-face-support). By doing so, we aim to clarify the current condition of lifestyle support available to international researchers and to propose an effective economical outsourcing option for day-to-day life issues faced by these researchers in Japan.
